The UAE will host the XBRL International conference in March 2012, which is the first time it is held in a MENA country.

The Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) has signed an agreement with the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange (ADX) and the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) to start implementing international financial reporting standards for listed companies, by using the eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL).

As part of its efforts to improve the quality of securities transactions, disclosure and transparency on the local markets, a delegation from the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) has participated in the conference on eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) which was held in Bombay, India.
